Denise is a dedicated and passionate Provisional Behaviour Support Practitioner. She has over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents and adults with complex mental health, psychosocial disability, neurodevelopmental conditions and behaviours of concern. Her career has spanned community mental health, youth early psychosis services, neurodevelopmental services, forensic settings and disability support, providing her with a broad understanding of the factors that influence behaviour and wellbeing.
Denise has worked collaboratively with individuals, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, person-centered strategies that enhance quality of life, build independence and strengthen relationships. Denise is a qualified Clinical Family Therapist, holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Criminology), and is currently completing a Master of Counselling.
She brings a trauma-informed, strengths-based and evidence-informed approach to Positive Behaviour Support, recognising that behaviour is a form of communication and that meaningful change is achieved through collaboration, understanding and respect. She is passionate about working alongside participants and their support networks to identify individual strengths, reduce restrictive practices wherever possible, and develop sustainable strategies that promote inclusion, choice and long-term positive outcomes. Denise values building genuine and transparent therapeutic relationships and is committed to helping people achieve their goals while supporting families and carers throughout the journey.
